The first version of the Ranorex test automation solution was published as freeware and was honored the following year at the BASTA conference, the largest annual .NET conference in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Just one year later, Ranorex received the export award from the Styrian Chamber of Commerce, as over 90% of sales came from abroad. In the years that followed, the company continued to experience rapid growth, not least due to its pioneering role and intensive efforts to achieve satisfied and successful customers. In 2017 Ranorex was honored by the Federation of Industry, which included the company in its list of Austrian IT gazelles, i.e. those companies that had at least 10 employees in 2010 and recorded a staffing growth of at least 80% from 2010 to 2016. In the same year Ranorex was taken over by Idera, Inc.
